GLENN HUGHES: Staying Always Funky
July 22, 2003Former DEEP PURPLE/BLACK SABBATH singer Glenn Hughes has posted the following message to his official web site:
"As most of you know, over the last 6 months I have made [solo album] 'Songs In The Key Of Rock', [HUGES TURNER PROJECT's] 'HTPII' and most recently [the collaboration with Italian guitarist Dario Mollo] 'Voodoo Hill 2'. I have been in the mood to focus in on my rock side. A couple of years ago it was being questioned if I was going to stray away from this format. I have been having a lot of fun writing, producing and performing these albums, but...for those of you who are wondering where the funk and the epic ballads and the acoustic music is, it is right here. I am writing continually all these forms of music and adding them to my library. I am truly grateful that i have been given a gift to write and sing in these styles. As I have said in the press lately, the voice of rock is rockin' again. I will continue to make music that is spontaneous and free. Thank you for joining me on my journey. Thank you for all your posts. I read them daily. I am working this week on finalizing some shows for Europe this fall and I will let you know as soon as I have confirmed dates.
"Staying always funky, Glenn"
